What's a Trunk Show?

I grabbed Tannis Davidson by the shirt collar and DEMANDED she tell me! 

OK not really. I more casually posed the question to her, trying to look cool. "You know, I'm asking for a friend."

Her answer was simple: A trunk show is a designer bringing in his entire collection of pieces for a private show. Fashionistas can pre-order the line in any size or colour the designer has. 

Why did I ask?

Well Tannis is the owner of My Filosophy, an Edmonton boutique that exclusively carries Canadian designer lines. Her designers have "Trunk Shows" twice a year at her store, and on Wednesday, April 25, Joeffer Caoc will be at the Crestwood location promoting his Fall 2012 Line which recently premiered at the Toronto Fashion Week.

Since My Filosophy is the only Edmonton store to carry Joeffer's line, it's kind of a big deal. My Filosophy doesn't bring in the entire collection to sell so this is YOUR CHANCE to order pieces in sizes and colours you can't get anywhere else in Edmonton.

Then on Thursday...
Once you've met Joeffer on Wednesday and ordered your exclusive Fall pieces, you're going to want to attend My Filosophy's High Fashion Fundraiser on Thursday, April 26.  Tannis launched this event four years ago in support of the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation and My Filosophy has made a commitment of raising $100,000 to help fund the Stollery Children’s Hospital Emergency Wing. This past November, with the support of event attendees and generous sponsors, My Filosophy was able to raise $25,000 in a single evening for the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation.
